GIRLFRIENDS ARE A GIRLS BEST FRIEND

This past weekend was the 16th anniversary of the “GreenLadies” Retreat in Estes Park Colorado in Cabin 20 of the Valhalla Resort.  The 8 women who gathered this weekend have been supporting each other for many years through transitions, heartaches, victories, family crisis, family joy.  Rarely do one of us miss this cherished weekend where we snowshoe in the pristine Rocky Mountain National Park, nosh on Sue’s brie appetizer, eat heartily, laugh, share and participate in our Saturday night ritual which is the glue that binds us together.

These women friends have been through a lot and through it all we know we are supported and cherished by each other and can turn to each other for help and a different way to look at things.  This year our theme was “reinvention”.  We have continued to reinvent ourselves over the years.

Allow me to brag on my friends:  Kay the engineer is no longer an engineer but an extraordinary photographer.  Lisa continues to work in environmental work with the State of Colorado and is an aspiring watercolorist.  After spending years developing Denver’s recycling program, Sue is now the Communications Director for Mayor Hickenlooper.  Nancy L worked for years in the environmental arena and now runs a very successful recreation center.  Judy and Ayn continue to save the planet at the Environmental Protection Agency.  Kelly  and I are embarking upon a new career of writing the series of books about the Power of Rituals. Sharon is in Austin, TX with a remarkable equine assisted coaching program after many years in the environmental arena.  Nancy F went from envirionmental work to carreer transition coaching.

The relationships between and among women are the most transformational relationships on the planet.  The relationships between and among these women have been transformational to each other.

If you have extraordinary friendships that you would like to share with us and how you connect to each other, cultivate memories and celebrate your friendships, we would like to hear from you.
